This festival is based in an old legend that took place in Montblanc, Tarragona. George was a knight that went there because the town had a problem with a dragon. Unfortunately, things went wrong and the princess was in danger. George went to fight the dragon and save her. When the knight killed the dragon, its blood became a beautiful rose that's why people in St George's day give roses to women. From this legend, a book about the story of St George and dragon was written. That's why women give books to men.

Nowadays, people go to Barcelona also to have a stroll or queue to get an autograph from their favourite authors.

I invite you to come and visit the city next St George's day.

I'll try to write more frequently about traditions in my country.

See you soon!!

Hi people!! How are you??

Sorry, I've been busy this week because I've had a lot of work. Yesterday was St George's day. This day is celebrated in towns and cities of Catalonia, is a traditional day.

I was in Las Ramblas, in Barcelona, and the street is full of people buying books and roses. Why books and roses ??
